The forthcoming game has the potential to be a great success. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated games for the coming year, with a release date of late 2023 and a massive audience waiting to see whether it can equal the previous two Spider-Man games by Insomniac.
It hasn’t been long since PlayStation revealed the game’s release timeframe, but we’ve now received some more assurance that it will arrive on time.
An interview with the voice behind Peter Parker in the game, Yuri Lowenthal, has seen the actor reiterate that he believes the game will ship on time.
Lowenthal told ComicBookMovie.com, “I know they’re confident in their release date, as well as Insomniac has consistently been wonderful about that.”

He also describes the game as “amazing,” saying it stands up to the standards established by Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
That’s saying a lot, considering that both games were incredibly delightful action romps that nailed the fundamental notion that zipping about the city should be a lot of fun from time to time.
They also delivered simple, emotional tales, and it seems that we’ll see an intriguing extension in that sense, with both Peter Parker and Miles Morales involved.
There’s also the return of the classic villain Venom, and presumably, the black symbiotic costume that Spider-Man has worn in collaboration with him on occasion.
We have yet to witness any genuine Spider-Man 2 gameplay, and although Miles Morales looks beautiful on PlayStation 5, we’re excited to see what Insomniac can accomplish with a game that is completely forsaking the PS4’s outdated technology.
Still, this may give fans a little more hope that they’ll be able to play the upcoming Spider-Man game before the end of the year – but you can never be confident that a videogame won’t be delayed until it’s really in your hands, ready to play.
We’ll hopefully learn more about the game and witness the first glimpses of genuine gameplay in the coming months. After all, the ramping up of its promotion for a release this massive is a very solid sign that its release is growing closer.
